The Rad Source 4 pi X-ray tube is a revolutionary design that makes it possible to generate high levels of ionizing radiation. This is accomplished by vastly increasing the target area in the 4 pi X-ray tube, thereby increasing the power per unit area by a factor 4x10^5. The larger target area allows for more efficient cooling and the increased power per unit area allows for the production of high dose rates even after filtering. The 4 pi X-ray tube has been integrated into two different Rad Source irradiators. These irradiators are the RS 2400 and the RS 2500.
