Standards in the Industry
The general validation of x-ray output follows from Standards using Co60 in certified reference laboratories. Rad Source uses validations from NIST to validate their equipment. In the case of our laboratory irradiators (RS 2000) the AAPM guide to laboratory calibration is used. In either case output from Rad Source irradiators is calibrated to international standards insuring its performance anywhere in the world.

A line of products to replace most Self-Contained isotope irradiators
Rad Source irradiation equipment can be used for a variety of applications. If you currently use a Cobalt or Cesium based irradiator, you can eliminate the regulatory headaches, safety and security issues by using our proprietary, high output x-ray irradiation equipment.
With irradiation dose outputs of up to 450 Gy/minute, our alternative* irradiation equipment can be used for a variety of applications:
- Biological research, myeloablation studies, tumors
- Irradiation effect research, human cell response
- Product sterilization
- Cross-Linking
- Sterile Insect Technique
- Disinfestations of fruits, vegetables, and spices
* All Rad Source Technologies' x-ray irradiation products meet the definition of "alternatives to radiation sources" as set forth in The NRC promulgation of the Energy Policy Act of 2005. [Federal Register: January 11, 2006 (Volume 71, Number 7)]. For a pdf of this document, click here.
